The Egyptian tortoise, also called Kleinmann's tortoise, Testudo kleinmanni, is a critically endangered species of tortoise in the family Testudinidae, native to Libya and possibly extinct in Egypt. It was once more widespread, but its numbers have dwindled and complete extinction in the wild is a serious threat without further protective measures.
