Enterolobium cyclocarpum, known by names such as conacaste, guanacaste, caro caro and elephant ear tree, is a species of flowering tree in the family Fabaceae native to tropical regions of the Americas, from central Mexico south to northern Brazil and Venezuela. It is known for its large size and often spherical crown and for its distinctively shaped seedpods, and it is especially abundant and valued for shade in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica, where it is the national tree.
