Grand fir, Abies grandis, is a conifer of the family Pinaceae found from British Columbia south through the Pacific Northwest and into the northern Rocky Mountains, growing among the tallest of all true fir species. Its flattened needles are arranged in two distinct horizontal rows along the twig, an identifying feature that distinguishes it from other firs in its range, and crushed foliage gives off a citrus-like fragrance often compared to orange peel.
