Harlequin Ladybird, scientifically Harmonia axyridis, is a lady beetle species also known as the Asian or multicoloured Asian lady beetle, one of the most variable lady beetle species in the world with an exceptionally wide range of color forms. Native to eastern Asia, it has been deliberately introduced to North America and Europe to control aphids and scale insects, and has since become common and spreading in those regions as well as established in Africa and widely across South America.
