Inland Taipan is an extremely venomous snake native to the semiarid regions of central-eastern Australia, particularly around the Queensland-South Australia border. Laboratory testing has found its venom to be the most toxic of any snake in the world, with a single bite carrying enough venom to kill more than 100 adult humans, yet the species is shy and reclusive by temperament and rarely encounters people in its remote habitat.
