The jade vine is a woody, climbing plant native to the tropical forests of the Philippines, prized for its striking claw-shaped flowers of an unusual turquoise-green color. Its long, hanging flower clusters can reach several feet in length and are pollinated primarily by bats, which hang upside down to reach the nectar. Deforestation in its native range has made the jade vine rare in the wild, though it is now widely cultivated in botanical gardens and greenhouses around the world.
