King Protea is a flowering plant and the most distinctive member of the genus Protea, bearing the largest flower head in the genus; it is also known as giant protea, honeypot or king sugar bush. It is widely distributed in the fynbos region of the southwestern and southern Western Cape of South Africa, and it is the national flower of South Africa.
