The klinki pine is a conifer in the family Araucariaceae native to the mountainous regions of Papua New Guinea, where it is the tallest tree species in its family, reaching 50 to 80 meters and occasionally up to 90 meters, with a trunk up to 3 meters in diameter. Unlike most Araucaria species, it bears both male and female cones on the same tree, and its nut-like seeds are consumed in large numbers by the sulphur-crested cockatoo. The IUCN Red List classifies it as Near Threatened due to habitat loss, though the fast growing tree is also valued for timber production in tropical highland plantations.
