Knight's plume moss, also called ostrich-plume feathermoss, Ptilium crista-castrensis, is a species of moss in the family Pylaisiaceae, within the order Hypnales, that grows on the floor of coniferous and mixed forests across the boreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Its regularly branched, feather-like fronds curve to one side in a shape resembling an ostrich plume, the feature behind both of its common names, and it typically forms loose, glossy carpets among other forest-floor mosses.
