Pseudocellus

Pseudocellus is a genus of arachnids in the order Ricinulei, commonly called hooded tickspiders, first described in 1980. It belongs to the family Ricinoididae and is native to the Neotropics, with its forty-one described species distributed across Mexico, Central America and Cuba, and a single species, Pseudocellus dorotheae, found in Texas. Detailed description of its appearance and natural history beyond taxonomy and range is not covered in the readily available literature, a gap this description does not attempt to fill with invented detail.
