Rosette lichen is the common name for Physcia, a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Physciaceae comprising roughly eighty species found worldwide. These foliose, lobed lichens range in color from whitish and pale greenish to green-gray or dark gray, and keep this appearance whether wet or dry. They grow on bark, wood and rock, favoring nutrient-rich conditions, and have spread rapidly through urban areas as air pollution has eased.
