Sacred Lotus, also known as Padma, Kamala, pink lotus or Indian lotus, is one of only two living species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. It is sometimes colloquially called water lily, though that name more often refers to the unrelated family Nymphaeaceae, and it belongs to the order Proteales.
