The spotted redshank is a wader in the large shorebird family Scolopacidae. It breeds across northern Scandinavia and the northern Palearctic, and migrates south for the winter to the Mediterranean, the southern British Isles, France, tropical Africa, and tropical Asia, with occasional vagrant records in Australia and North America.
