The stock dove (Columba oenas) is a bird in the pigeon and dove family Columbidae and the type species of the genus Columba, found across the western Palearctic from central Scandinavia south to northwest Africa. Western and southern populations are year-round residents, while northeastern populations migrate to escape harsh winters, and two subspecies are recognized, differing mainly in range and the paler coloration of the eastern form. It is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
