Scalloped Hammerhead

The scalloped hammerhead is a species of hammerhead shark, one of the most common of all hammerheads, found in warm temperate and tropical coastal waters worldwide between about 46 degrees north and 36 degrees south latitude, down to depths of 500 metres. Its head is drawn out into two lateral extensions bearing the eyes and nostrils at their tips, the shape that gives all hammerheads their name, and it is a fairly large hammerhead though smaller than both the great and smooth hammerheads. It is also known as the bronze, kinky-headed or southern hammerhead.
