White Water Lily

Nymphaea alba, commonly called the white water lily, European white water lily or white nenuphar, is an aquatic flowering plant in the water lily family, native to North Africa, temperate Asia, Europe and tropical Asia. As an aquatic plant it bears specialized trichomes called hydropotes, formed on the underside of young leaves and packed tightly in a rosette at the flattened tip of the rhizome, and its rhizomes store high amounts of carbohydrate and protein.
