Sea anemones and corals: cnidarians that exist only as a polyp, permanently or semi-permanently attached to a surface, with no free-swimming medusa stage at any point in the life cycle. Anthozoa includes the reef-building stony corals whose calcium-carbonate skeletons form the physical structure of coral reefs worldwide.
