Agapythidae is a family of beetles containing a single genus, Agapytho, and a single species, Agapytho foveicollis, endemic to New Zealand. Both the larvae and adults live in sooty mold on Nothofagus trees and are thought to feed on it, and the lineage, established as its own family in 1969 from a genus first described in 1921, has been described as a Mesozoic relict surviving in New Zealand.
