Boganiidae is a family of beetles in the superfamily Cucujoidea found in southern Africa, Australia, and New Caledonia, where adults and larvae feed on the pollen of cycads and of flowering plants in the families Myrtaceae, Meliaceae, Cunoniaceae, and Elaeocarpaceae. The genus Metacucujus pollinates Encephalartos cycads and Paracucujus pollinates Macrozamia cycads, a relationship documented in a 99 million year old Burmese amber fossil from the mid-Cretaceous, and the family known range runs from the Callovian stage of the Jurassic to the present.
