Cheloniidae is a family of typically large marine turtles characterized by a flat, streamlined, wide and rounded shell and paddle-like flippers for forelimbs. The family contains six living species, the green sea turtle, loggerhead sea turtle, olive ridley sea turtle, hawksbill sea turtle, flatback sea turtle and Kemp's ridley sea turtle, and is the only group of sea turtles with front limbs stronger than their back limbs.
