Corytophanidae is a family of iguanian lizards, commonly called casquehead or helmeted lizards, endemic to the New World. Nine species in three genera, Basiliscus, Corytophanes and Laemanctus, are recognized, ranging from Mexico through Central America to Ecuador, and some species have become invasive in South Florida. The family's fossil record extends back to the early Eocene.
