Lanthanotidae is a family containing a single living species, the earless monitor lizard, Lanthanotus borneensis, a semiaquatic brown lizard endemic to the island of Borneo, recorded in Sarawak, West and North Kalimantan and, since 2022, Brunei's Temburong District. Related to but distinct from the true monitor lizards, it is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List and has been protected under CITES Appendix II since 2017.
