Polychrotidae is a family of iguanian lizards containing the living genus Polychrus, the bush anoles, and an extinct genus, Afairiguana. The family once was thought to include all anoles, but those lizards were moved to the separate family Dactyloidae after molecular studies showed Polychrus is not closely related to Anolis and instead sits closer to Hoplocercidae. Established by Frost and Etheridge in 1989, it is recognized as a valid, distinct family in modern taxonomy.
