Silvanidae, the silvan flat bark beetles, is a family of small beetles in the superfamily Cucujoidea with about 500 described species across 68 genera. Found on every continent except Antarctica and most diverse in the Old World tropics, these flattened, densely punctured beetles measure between 1.2 and 15 millimeters and are divided into the subfamilies Brontinae and Silvaninae. Most are fungivorous, living under dead bark, in withered leaves, or in leaf litter and soil.
