Sphindidae

Sphindidae, the slime mold beetles, is a family in the suborder Polyphaga with eight living genera whose adults and larvae feed exclusively on slime molds, though little else is known of their life history. Paleontological finds since 2015 have expanded the family fossil record, including the extinct genus Libanopsis from Cretaceous Lebanese amber, and the lineage is now known to extend from the mid-Barremian stage of the Early Cretaceous to the present.
