Amolops is a genus of true frogs native mainly to eastern and southeastern Asia, closely related to genera such as Huia, Meristogenys, Odorrana, Pelophylax and Rana, though it still forms a distinct lineage within the core radiation of true frogs. Members are commonly known as torrent frogs after their favoured habitat of small, rapid-flowing mountain and hill streams, though that name is also used for many similar-looking frogs regardless of how closely they are actually related.
