Dryophytes

Dryophytes is a genus of tree frogs, family Hylidae, comprising 21 species, resurrected as an independent genus in 2016 after previously being treated as a subgenus of Hyla; the split rests on geographic distribution, New World and eastern Asian versus Old World only, rather than morphological differences. Species occur mostly in North America, with five species native to eastern Asia. These small, tree-dwelling frogs are usually green or gray, have digits ending in expanded discs that help them cling to surfaces such as trees, and inhabit wetlands as well as temperate forests, both on the ground and in trees, throughout their range.
