Erytholus

Erytholus is a form genus created for a set of globose, chambered structures with associated vertical tubes found in the Middle Cambrian Moodlatana Formation of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. Its status as a genuine fossil organism is disputed, with some researchers proposing it instead records a geological artifact rather than biological remains, while others have suggested it could represent a slime mold or a late surviving vendobiont in the manner of the Ediacaran fossil Ventogyrus. Its taxonomic placement remains unresolved and it is treated as being of uncertain affinity.
