Rutgersella is a genus known from the form species Rutgersella truexi, based on problematic fossils of Early Silurian age from Pennsylvania. It has drawn special interest for its morphological similarity to the Ediacaran fossil Dickinsonia, raising the possibility that it may have been a late-surviving vendobiont.
