Apiales is an order of flowering plants in the asterid group of eudicots, comprising seven families including Apiaceae, the carrot and parsley family, and Araliaceae, the ginseng family. Well-known members include carrots, celery, coriander, parsley, ginseng, and ivies. The order boundaries were established fairly recently, based on comparison of DNA sequences rather than shared physical form.
