Boraginales is an order of flowering plants in the asterid clade of eudicots, comprising about 125 genera and 2,700 species of herbs, shrubs, trees, and vines with a worldwide distribution. The APG IV classification of 2016 treats the order as a single family, Boraginaceae, while the Boraginales Working Group recognizes as many as eleven constituent families, including Cordiaceae, Ehretiaceae, and Heliotropiaceae. The number of families recognized within the order remains an active point of disagreement among botanists.
