Buxales is a small order of eudicot flowering plants recognized by the APG IV system of 2016, whose primary family is Buxaceae, with Didymelaceae and Haptanthaceae sometimes recognized as separate families or included within it. Members are typically evergreen shrubs or trees, though some are herbaceous perennials, and the plants bear separate male and female flowers usually on the same individual; several species are valued commercially for timber or as ornamental plantings.
