Cucurbitales is an order of flowering plants in the rosid group of eudicots, found predominantly in tropical regions and comprising eight families with roughly 2,600 to 3,000 species across around 109 genera. Its largest families are Begoniaceae, with about 2,040 species, and Cucurbitaceae, the gourd family, with about 960 species that include squash, pumpkin, watermelon, cucumber, and melon. Members of the order typically bear unisexual flowers and are usually insect-pollinated.
