Dilleniales is an order of flowering plants in the core eudicots, containing primarily a single family, Dilleniaceae, though earlier classification systems such as the Takhtajan system of 1969 also included Crossosomataceae within it. The order fossil record extends back to the Early Paleogene, roughly 52 million years ago, and modern molecular phylogenetics places it within the Pentapetalae, a major clade of core eudicots.
