Huerteales is an order of flowering plants within the rosids, comprising four families, Petenaeaceae, Gerrardinaceae, Tapisciaceae, and Dipentodontaceae, with approximately six genera and about 25 species in total. Petenaeaceae contains a single species, Petenaea cordata, native to southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, while the largest genus, Perrottetia, accounts for about 15 of the species in the order. Members are shrubs or small trees found mostly in tropical or warm temperate regions, and recognition of the order rests on molecular phylogenetic evidence rather than shared visible traits.
