Pseudoscorpiones is the order of pseudoscorpions, also called false scorpions or book scorpions, small arachnids that resemble true scorpions but lack the elongated tail and sting. Most species measure only 2 to 8 millimeters, though the largest reaches about 12 millimeters. Over 3,300 species in more than 430 genera and 24 living families have been described, all carrying scorpion-like pincered pedipalps.
