Solanales is an order of flowering plants in the asterid group of eudicots, comprising five families under modern classification: Convolvulaceae, Hydroleaceae, Montiniaceae, Solanaceae and Sphenocleaceae. Notable members include potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplants, tomatoes, chili peppers, tobacco, petunias, nightshades and morning glory, with the nightshade family Solanaceae alone containing many economically important crops and ornamentals.
