Cycliophora is a phylum of microscopic marine animals first described in 1995, discovered living attached to the mouthparts of Norway lobsters. The phylum contains a single well known genus, Symbion, whose members pass through an unusually complex life cycle that alternates sexual and asexual stages depending on the molting cycle of their lobster host.
