The ribbon worms: soft-bodied, unsegmented marine invertebrates notable for a long, eversible proboscis housed in a fluid-filled cavity separate from the gut, used to capture prey. Most Nemertea species are marine bottom-dwellers, though some freshwater and terrestrial species exist, and some ribbon worms are the longest animals known, reaching many meters in length.
