Siberian Taiga

Boreal Forest and Taiga

The East Siberian taiga is one of the largest biogeographic regions on Earth, a boreal forest and taiga ecoregion covering roughly 3.9 million square kilometers of eastern Russia. Several distinct named ecoregions cover the wider Siberian taiga, east, west and northeast, so Siberian Taiga as commonly used spans more territory than any single one of them. The cited source names the former Soviet Union's territory broadly, which includes Siberia, rather than the taiga by name specifically; the gray wolf's Eurasian range is well documented as extending across Siberia's taiga.
