Nasua

Nasua is a genus of coatis, family Procyonidae, comprising two extant species, the white-nosed coati and the South American coati, plus one extinct species. The white-nosed coati ranges from the southwestern United States, in southern New Mexico and Arizona, through Mexico, Central America and northwest Colombia, while the South American coati is found throughout South America. Nasua differs from the related genus Nasuella in being larger and having larger canine teeth, and members are noted for active foraging behavior using their sensitive, mobile noses.
