The fat-tailed false antechinus, Pseudantechinus macdonnellensis, also called the fat-tailed pseudantechinus or red-eared antechinus, is a marsupial in the order Dasyuromorphia and family Dasyuridae, native to western and central Australia including South Australia, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia. Its species name comes from the MacDonnell Ranges near Alice Springs, where it was first discovered, and it occupies rocky environments and rocky slopes and plains of central Australia.
