Myotis septentrionalis

Myotis septentrionalis, the northern long-eared bat or northern myotis, is a species of bat in the family Vespertilionidae native to North America. It measures roughly 3 to 3.7 inches long with a 9 to 10 inch wingspan, and is distinguished from related Myotis species by its notably long ears. Its range covers the eastern half of the United States and Canada, from Manitoba and Newfoundland south to North Carolina and Alabama, with individuals occasionally recorded farther west. The species is assessed as Near Threatened by the IUCN and was listed as endangered under the United States Endangered Species Act effective March 31, 2023.
