Spider Families (Araneae)

Spider Families (Araneae) is a Browse By group of the Nature Atlas that gathers the families of spiders of the order Araneae, such as the tarantulas, orb-weavers, jumping spiders and cobweb spiders. An entry belongs here when its own cited article states that it is a family of spiders. It excludes families of other arachnids such as ticks, scorpions and harvestmen. Spiders are distinguished by eight legs, venom-injecting fangs and silk-producing spinnerets, and the order is the largest in the class Arachnida.
