Home›Other Minor Phyla›All Other Minor PhylaBrowse ByAll Other Minor PhylaReference and ClassificationDevelopingThis subcategory gathers members of small invertebrate phyla too minor in this atlas's holdings to warrant a subcategory of their own, grouped here rather than left under a vague catch all label. It includes comb jellies (Ctenophora), ribbon worms (Nemertea), arrow worms (Chaetognatha), acorn worms and related pterobranchs (Hemichordata), thorny headed worms (Acanthocephala), water bears (Tardigrada), velvet worms (Onychophora), and several other microscopic or rarely encountered lineages such as rotifers, gastrotrichs, loriciferans, priapulids, and placozoans. Each of these phyla is anatomically distinct from the others and from every other group in this atlas, sharing only a small body size and a minor share of the described invertebrate world. A member is placed here when its own phylum has too few entries in the atlas to justify a dedicated subcategory, not because its classification is uncertain. All Other Minor PhylaComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)All Other Minor PhylaFilter Results26 entriesCommon GroupAllComb Jellies (Ctenophora) (5)Hemichordates (Acorn Worms and Relatives) (2)Priapulid Worms (Priapulida) (2)Ribbon Worms (Nemertea) (2)Rotifers and Spiny-Headed Worms (2)Scalidophoran Phyla (2)Tardigrades (Water Bears) (2)TaxonomyAllAnimalia (2)Annelida (1)Ctenophora (4)Cycliophora (1)Ecdysozoa (4)Hemichordata (2)Kinorhyncha (1)Nemertea (1)Placozoa (1)Priapulida (2)Spiralia (4)Tardigrada (1)Xenacoelomorpha (2)HabitatAllFreshwater (1)Grassland (1)Intertidal Zone (1)Mangrove Forest (1)Marine (13)Neritic Zone (2)Open Ocean (2)Tropical Rainforest (2)Conservation StatusAllNot Evaluated (3)EcosystemAllCaspian Sea (1)Deep Sea (4)Great Barrier Reef (1)Lake Baikal (1)Everyday GroupAllComb Jellies (Ctenophora) (5)Hemichordates (Acorn Worms and Relatives) (2)Priapulid Worms (Priapulida) (2)Ribbon Worms (Nemertea) (2)Rotifers and Spiny-Headed Worms (2)Scalidophoran Phyla (2)Tardigrades (Water Bears) (2)DietAllCarnivore (8)Detritivore or Scavenger (3)Filter Feeder (2)Herbivore (1)Omnivore (1)Parasitic (3)Photosynthetic Autotroph (1)System (Realm)AllFreshwater (5)Marine (23)Marine and Freshwater (1)Terrestrial (5)Relationship to PeopleAllHunted or Fished (1)Invasive or Introduced Species (2)Living or ExtinctAllYes (23)Where It LivesAllAntarctica (1)Australasia (1)Australia (1)Brazil (1)Canada (1)Central America (1)Chile (1)Colombia (1)Denmark (3)France (1)Gabon (1)Ireland (1)New Zealand (2)Northeast India (1)Norway (4)Scandinavia (1)South America (1)Southeast Asia (1)Southern Africa (1)Sweden (3)The Antarctic (1)The Caribbean (1)The Mediterranean (1)Tropics (1)United Kingdom (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 26AcanthocephalanOther Minor PhylaAcorn WormOther Minor PhylaArrow WormOther Minor PhylaBeroeOther Minor PhylaBootlace Worm (Lineus longissimus)Other Minor PhylaCephalodiscusOther Minor PhylaComb JellyOther Minor PhylaGastrotrichOther Minor PhylaHorsehair WormOther Minor PhylaLoriciferanOther Minor PhylaMud DragonOther Minor PhylaPeanut WormOther Minor PhylaPriapulid WormOther Minor PhylaPriapulus CaudatusOther Minor PhylaRibbon WormOther Minor PhylaRotiferOther Minor PhylaSea GooseberryOther Minor PhylaSea Walnut (Mnemiopsis leidyi)Other Minor PhylaSymbionOther Minor PhylaSymsagittifera RoscoffensisOther Minor PhylaTardigradeOther Minor PhylaTrichoplaxOther Minor PhylaVelvet WormOther Minor PhylaVenus GirdleOther Minor PhylaWater BearOther Minor PhylaXenoturbellaOther Minor PhylaComments (0)No comments yet.
