Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park is a 19,623 square kilometer national park in South Africa's Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces, a lowveld landscape of savanna grassland and mixed woodland under a hot, semi-arid climate. It grew from the smaller Sabi Game Reserve, proclaimed in 1898, and later absorbed the separate Singwitsi Reserve to the north. Its insect diversity remains only roughly known: the total number of Lepidoptera species in the park is unrecorded but estimated at around 7,000.
