African marsh harrier

The African marsh harrier is a bird of prey in the harrier genus Circus, largely resident in wetland habitats across southern, central and eastern Africa from South Africa north to South Sudan. It is 44 to 47 centimeters long, with females roughly 30 percent heavier than males, adults have yellow eyes while immature birds have brown eyes, and its plumage is predominantly brown with pale streaking on the head and breast. It is slimmer and paler than the Eurasian marsh harrier and, unlike Montagu's and pallid harriers, it lacks a white rump; its conservation status is Least Concern.
