The black-faced cormorant, also called the black-faced shag, is a medium-sized cormorant endemic to the coastal regions of southern Australia, including Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. Its upperparts, including its facial skin and bill, are black, with white underparts, a dark grey hooked bill and blue green eyes, and it is one of the largest cormorants in southwestern Australia. Its conservation status is Least Concern.
