Suliformes is an order of birds that includes the gannets and boobies, frigatebirds, cormorants and darters, recognized by the International Ornithologists Union. The order was split out from the traditional, broader Pelecaniformes after genetic evidence showed that grouping to be unnatural, and a 2017 study found Suliformes most closely related to the bustards and storks.
