Blue-tailed Day Gecko

The blue-tailed day gecko is a diurnal lizard endemic to the island of Mauritius, reaching a total length of about 9.5 to 14 centimeters with females generally smaller than males. Males are light green to bluish green with a bright blue back, dark red spots and a deep blue tail, while females are duller with a green back and rust colored spots. It lives in warm, humid places on trees such as coconut palm, banana and papaya, and is the sole pollinator and seed disperser of the climbing shrub Roussea simplex, endemic to Mauritius's mountains.
